Hawaiʻi
Kailua-Kona
Two houses behind one gate on Aliʻi Drive. Fifteen bedrooms on the Pacific, one mile from town.
The residences
One estate, two homes behind one gate — always booked together.
The estate
Two houses behind one gate on Aliʻi Drive, one mile south of Kailua-Kona. Moana Makai is on the water — nine bedrooms, seven baths, sleeps eighteen. Moana Mauka is on the garden side — six bedrooms, four baths, sleeps twelve. Together, fifteen bedrooms and thirty guests with the Pacific as the front yard.
Getting here
Kona International Airport (KOA) is twenty-five minutes north with direct flights from the West Coast, Denver, Dallas, Chicago and Tokyo. We arrange transfers and, for larger parties, a shuttle.
Around the house
Kailua-Kona is five minutes: the pier, Aliʻi Drive’s restaurants, the Wednesday and Saturday farmers’ markets. Manta-ray night snorkels leave from Keauhou Bay, ten minutes south. Kealakekua Bay and the Captain Cook monument are forty minutes. Coffee farms line the slopes above the house; Mauna Kea’s summit is a day trip.
Good to know
Hawaiʻi Standard Time, no daylight saving. The lee side of the island is dry and calm most of the year; ocean conditions on the Kona coast are typically gentlest in the morning. The house is fully staffed on request — private chef, massage, in-house luau.
